Executive Home Care of Southeast & Seacoast New Hampshire is seeking a warm, dependable, and compassionate Companion Caregiver to provide meaningful companionship and everyday support to our clients in the comfort of their homes.
As a Companion Caregiver, you’ll help clients remain engaged, connected, and comfortable while supporting their independence and quality of life. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with seniors and making a positive difference in their day.
What You’ll Do
- Provide friendly companionship and meaningful conversation
- Spend quality time with clients through activities such as reading, games, puzzles, crafts, music, or watching favorite programs
- Accompany clients on walks, appointments, shopping trips, or other outings as appropriate
- Assist with errands and everyday tasks that help clients remain independent
- Prepare simple meals, snacks, and beverages
- Help with light household tasks such as tidying, laundry, dishes, and organizing
- Provide reminders for appointments, activities, and daily routines
- Encourage social engagement and participation in hobbies and interests
- Provide a reassuring presence and emotional support
- Observe and communicate changes in a client's mood, behavior, or overall well-being to the appropriate team member
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and comfortable environment for every client
- Follow each client's individualized care plan and company policies
What We’re Looking For
- A compassionate, patient, and dependable personality
- Genuine interest in helping older adults maintain independence and quality of life
- Previous caregiving, companion, senior care, hospitality, customer service, or related experience is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust and develop positive relationships with clients and families
- Ability to work independently and responsibly in a client's home
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a background check and meet applicable employment requirements
- Dementia or Alzheimer's experience/training is a plus
- LNA or PCA certification is welcome but not required for a companion care position
